About Skills School.
Skills School is an educational initiative based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. We bring practical learning, communication skills and technology awareness to students, teachers and schools, with a special focus on rural and underserved communities in India.
Why we exist
A student's potential should never be defined by their geography, language, family income, or access to technology. Yet for many children in rural India, exposure to practical skills, confident communication, digital tools and modern career possibilities remains limited. Skills School exists to help bridge that gap.
We believe meaningful education is not only about what students know. It is also about what they feel empowered to do with that knowledge. That is why our sessions are conversations, not lectures: students are invited to think, question, experiment and speak.

Mission and vision
Mission. To make practical, future-ready learning accessible to students from underserved and rural communities through interactive workshops, communication training, technology exposure, and skill-based education.
Vision. An India where every child, regardless of background or location, has the confidence, awareness, and practical skills to participate in the modern world.
What we do
We run three kinds of work. School workshops bring interactive sessions on English communication, digital awareness, creative problem-solving, careers and AI into classrooms. Teacher workshops explore interactive teaching and digital tools. Short courses are proposed beginner programs, with formats, schedules and availability shared through enquiry. See the full list on the programs page.
